Kilim Rug Soumakh Cubes

A rare and beautiful kilim rug from Iran. The rug, which is partly hand-woven and partly hand-knotted with a special Soumakh technique, is very fine and the weaver has woven colourful patterns into the pile with a very high-quality Zagros wool. This gives the rug a cheerful and cosy character. The unique piece tells the stories of the nomads. The border of the rug consists of a colourful animal border on a camel-hair coloured background. This type of rug is best suited to interiors with a lot of wood or, alternatively, to very modern living spaces. These rugs are also popular for the slightly more unusual bohemian style of living. The Zagos wool used is very durable and the colours are pure natural. We recommend an anti-slip underlay for this beautiful rug. The rug can also be laid on floors with underfloor heating without hesitation.

Our Kilim rugs are either hand-woven, knotted or partly woven and partly knotted in Soumakh technique. We recommend using a hoover with a flat nozzle. This is more gentle on the handmade rug. As this rug is a purely natural product, stains can generally be removed very easily and without complications. Simply wash the stain out with neutral soap and water. Under no circumstances should you use chemical cleaning agents, as the rug is made of pure natural materials and the wool will then be attacked. If you have more persistant stains or you want to give the rug a thorough cleaning after some time, then the hand-knotted kilim rugs can be washed. We offer this rug washing service for our rugs. It is particularly important to use a non-slip rug underlay for the flat kilim rugs. Your floor and the rug are thus protected and you cannot slip on the rug. Since kilim rugs are very flat and therefore tend to slip, an anti-slip underlay is a must.
