For the rugs from our Jordan Design Collection we put great emphasis on sustainable materials, good colors and fair manufacturing. We have been importing and selecting the hand-knotted rugs directly on site for decades. This helps us enormously to find long-term partners in the countries of origin of the rugs. For example, each manufacture must prove that it is a member of Care&Fair.
We have high standards for our modern design rugs, they are made from 100% sustainable materials such as virgin wool, natural silk, bamboo silk and Tencel.

1. Rugs from virgin wool
A rug knotted from sheep's wool is a sustainable natural product that ages beautifully and is a true heirloom of tomorrow. A sheep is sheared several times a year, so the wool grows back and therefore a rug made of virgin wool is 100% sustainable. The days of throwaway culture and quick consumption have long been replaced by mindful shopping and sustainable consumption. If you choose a real rug made of virgin wool when buying a rug, you will enjoy it for a long time and you do not have to compromise on the design and appearance of the rug with us.

2. Rugs from virgin wool & natural silk
To make modern design rugs even more high quality and interesting, we also stock hand-knotted Rugs from virgin wool and natural silk. Natural silk is also a sustainable material because it is the only textile continuous fiber found in nature. Natural silk is therefore biodegradable and therefore sustainable. Particularly high-quality and exclusive rugs are partially or completely knotted from natural silk. Specially trained master knotters still master this art today. We maintain long-standing contacts with these special manufactories, where we gather the most beautiful rugs every year.

3. Rugs from virgin wool & bamboo silk
For some time now, the material bamboo silk has offered an alternative to the exclusive natural silk. Similar to the natural silk, bamboo silk provides noble shine in the rug and is used for various, modern rug designs. Bamboo silk is made from the bamboo plant. Bamboo is a fast-growing plant, so bamboo silk is also one of the sustainable materials. We also select these rugs locally and define our own colors and patterns. Each rug is personally selected and inspected by us, so we can guarantee their quality.

4. Tencel rugs
For some time now we have rugs made of Tencel, also known as Lyocell, in our collection. Originally, this raw material comes from the eucalyptus plant. Tencel has a slightly shiny property, which gives these rugs an elegant and modern look. These rugs are available with a fine ribbed texture and as plain rugs, so they also work wonderfully as complementary rugs to, for example, patterned rugs.
