Description

This extraordinary vintage rug is something very special. Its ice-blue colour makes it look captivating and elegant. The patterns on the rug are striking, yet precisely and finely embroidered by hand on the rug. The unique piece is an original from Iran. A high quality virgin wool was used for knotting, which has a first class quality. It is incredibly time-consuming manual work to refurbish a rug in such a form. First, the higher wool of the rug was taken away and then the stunning unique piece was re-dyed.

Care instructions

Our unique vintage rugs are hand-knotted. We recommend using a hoover with a flat nozzle. This is more gentle on the vintage rugs. Stains should be washed out with neutral soap and water. Under no circumstances should you resort to chemical cleaning agents, as the wool will then be attacked and colours can fade. If you have more persistant stains or you want to give the rug a basic cleaning after some time, then the rugs can be washed. We offer this rug washing service for our rugs. We also recommend the use of a non-slip underlay to protect your floor and the rug and prevent you from slipping on the rug.

Each of our rugs is a hand-knotted piece that is unique in color, design and quality. Each weaver is an individual artist, each virgin wool takes on colors differently and so each time also creates a distinctive rug unique.

Each of our rugs is hand-knotted or hand-woven from sustainable and renewable materials such as virgin wool, natural silk, bamboo silk and goat hair.

Handgeknüpft

Each rug is a hand-knotted unique piece. For many rugs, the virgin wool is still spun and carded by hand. The knotting of a rug is therefore a valuable craftsmanship.

Fair

We have been importing hand-knotted rugs from the countries of origin for more than 60 years. We have been a member of Care&Fair since then and require the same from all our partners. Our rugs are therefore fairly traded and manufactured.
